Overview

Orbis™ is a non-contact through-hole rotary encoder designed for applications where a typical OnAxis encoder cannot be mounted at the end of the rotating shaft due to space constraints.

Orbis™ through-hole encoder system consists of a readhead and diametrically magnetised permanent magnet ring.

Output signals are provided in industry standard absolute, incremental, and analogue sinusoidal (sin/cos) signals.

For BISS-C, SPI, SSI, Asynchronous serial and PWM communication please refer to BRD01 Data sheet.

For Analogue sin/cos, commutation and incremental outputs please refer to BRD14 Data sheet.

Benefits

  • Output formats: BiSS-C, SSI, SPI, Sin/Cos, ABZ, UVW, PWM and Asynchronous serial
  • Through-hole design enables its mounting anywhere along the shaft
  • Multi-turn counter option
  • Status LED
  • Optional self-calibration after assembly
  • Wide installation tolerances
  • Built-in self-diagnostics
  • Zeroing function
  • High speed operation
