At a ceremony in the Cankar Centre in Ljubljana, Dora Domajnko was named Slovenia’s first ever Female Engineer of the Year. The Development Engineer at RLS, a Renishaw associate company, was presented with the award for being an outstanding inspiration for young people. The award was organised by Let’s Be Engineers!, an initiative that encourages more young people to consider engineering careers.

Traditional optical encoders are essential components in motion control systems. However, for
reliable operation it is necessary to protect them from harsh environments. This limits the diversity
of applications where encoders can be deployed and can add substantial cost – until now.

Developed by RLS d.o.o., a new line of high-performance magnetic encoders provide many of the
features of optical encoders but without increased robustness.

RLS d.o.o., a Slovenian-based supplier of rotary and linear motion sensors, has tripled the size of its operations with a new, 2,100 m² custom built facility in Komenda, Slovenia. The new building which includes a 180 m² clean room with electro-conductive flooring and conforming to ISO-8 standard, represents a significant expansion to the design and manufacturing capability for RLS, which since 2000 has been an associate of the Renishaw Group.

The OnAxis™ commutation magnetic rotary encoder range is designed for use in motor feedback applications requiring both A, B, Z incremental and U, V, W commutation signals

The E201 is a single channel USB encoder interface suitable for use with a wide variety of 5 V rotary and linear encoders. The E201 replaces the P201 interface.

RoLin™ is a component level encoder system consisting of an RLM readhead and MS magnetic scale or MR ring. It has been designed for embedded motion control applications as a position control loop feedback element.

The New LM15 linear magnetic encoder brings up to 100 m travel to demanding high-speed applications. The solid-state, non-contact design features a compact IP68 readhead that rides at up to 4 mm from the self adhesive magnetic strip scale.

RLS’ new AM4096 magnetic encoder IC takes proven on-axis encoder technology a step further with increased functionality and reduced costs. The OnAxis™ technology is used in many demanding motor and control applications where traditional encoder technologies might fail.

The new LM13 magnetic ring encoder consists of a compact sealed readhead and a magnetised ring of a diameter of 100.5 mm. The readhead can ride at up to 1.5 mm from the ring's surface.

The new LM13 linear magnetic encoder system features a small and compact readhead which rides above a magnetised scale at a distance of up to 1.5 mm.

The New LM10 linear magnetic encoder brings 100 m travel and fit-and-forget reliability to demanding high-speed, precision applications. The solid-state, non-contact design features a compact IP68 readhead that rides at up to 1.5 mm from the self adhesive magnetic strip scale.
